Submissions
Policy
The Newcastle Law Review accepts full-length articles of up to 15000 words (inclusive of footnotes) on law, legal education and legal practice. Shorter articles addressing recent developments in these areas should ideally be 6000-8000 words (including footnotes). We also consider case notes (2500-6000 words inclusive of footnotes) and book reviews of 1000-2500 words (including footnotes). The review of books published more than 24 months ago will not be considered.

The Editorial Board will only consider material that complies with the following:
-
The submission must be original, unpublished and not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
-
Except for book reviews, an abstract of the article (of 50-120 words) must be supplied.
-
All submissions will be peer-reviewed before being accepted for publication. Please ensure the word document of your article is anonymous for peer-review and include any information that may reveal the authors’ identity and/or affiliation in a separate title page. These include (but are not limited to) the authors’ names, their present academic or professional affiliations, funding information, and personal involvement in the subject matter of the article.
-
Submitted articles should, as far as possible, comply with the Australian Guide for Legal Citations (4th Edition).
